Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, allegedly targeted women in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington beginning in 2022. Prosecutors say Love met victims through dating apps and falsely portrayed himself as a wealthy investor and 49ers player, while Chan posed as his financial adviser.

The pair allegedly used fake investment accounts, fabricated profits and lavish social media posts to persuade victims to send money. Investigators said victims received no investment returns, and Love eventually cut off contact with them.

Both men were arrested Aug. 24 in Boise, Idaho, and remain in custody. The FBI believes there may be additional victims.
