DMV Closures and Reopenings – Rochester Region & Statewide

Upcoming Closures:

• Friday (all day) – Monroe County DMV offices closed for staff training. Other counties’ offices may vary; check your local DMV page.
• Friday 2 p.m. onwards (statewide) – All DMV operations paused for a system upgrade.
• Monday (Presidents’ Day) – All DMV offices closed.
• Tuesday – All DMV offices closed for the rollout of the new system.

Reopening Schedule:

• Wednesday – DMV offices resume normal hours.
  • Ontario County (Canandaigua) – 8:30 a.m.
  • Wayne County (Lyons) – 9:00 a.m.
  • Livingston County (Dansville & Geneseo) – 8:00 a.m.
  • Monroe County (Henrietta, Irondequoit, downtown Rochester, Greece) – 8:30 a.m.

Additional Info:

• This is the first phase of a multi-year statewide project to replace DMV technology systems.
• About 30 million records will be migrated during the transition.
