Written by Site Hub on October 27, 2025
Compeer Rochester hosted the Compeer Mile: A Walk to End Loneliness, inviting the community to participate in a one-mile walk to support mental wellness through human connection. The inclusive route began in Rochester’s East End and concluded at Lila’s on South Union Street, offering participants incentives like discounted admission to The Strong Museum of Play or a free food item. Compeer Rochester, which pairs trained volunteers with individuals experiencing isolation, organized the walk to raise awareness about loneliness as a public health issue. President and CEO Sara Passamonte emphasized the power of community in reducing isolation and forming meaningful friendships. The event underscored Compeer’s mission to foster mental wellness across all ages, from veterans to youth.
