She told viewers her hair was good enough for a brand like Miu Miu and encouraged young Black girls with similar hair textures to feel confident wearing their hair however they choose. The 22-year-old is the highest-earning female athlete in the world and has partnerships with New Balance, Carol’s Daughter, and Miu Miu. The conversation sparked broader discussion about anti-Black beauty standards in fashion and sports.
