Cannabis Tax Payments Fall Short of Expectations in Henrietta
Written by DJ Sight on May 5, 2026
Henrietta officials say about $120,000 in expected cannabis tax revenue for 2025 may be missing. The town received roughly $950,000 instead of the projected $1 million+, with a sharp drop early in the year and another dip in the fourth quarter.
Supervisor Stephen Schultz found that just three large dispensaries reported more tax revenue than the town received for one quarter, raising concerns about how funds are collected and distributed.
State agencies haven’t explained the discrepancy, and Schultz warned any shortfall could lead to higher property taxes.
