Buffalo Bills Unveil New “Nickel City” Alternate Uniforms

The Bills unveiled their “Nickel City” alternate uniforms in a social media post on Monday, matching Buffalo’s nickname with an all-gray jersey-and-pants combination. The uniforms will also be the Bills’ first non-throwback uniforms to not have the primary “Charging Buffalo” logo on the helmet. Instead, “The Charge” alternate helmet attempts to bring the “Charging Buffalo” to life by putting the horn, eye and charge streak on a blue shell.
The primary logo is still featured on the jersey “positioned close to the heart.” The Bills website said the design process took eight months. La Porta and the Bills design team were also involved in creating Buffalo’s ‘Cold Front’ Rivalries jerseys — an all-white combo — that debuted last season.
The new alternate uniform means the Bills’ 1960 throwbacks won’t return this season. The all-white jerseys featuring the “Standing Buffalo” logo on the helmet were worn twice last year to mark the final season at the old Highmark Stadium.
The Bills will wear the “Nickel City” uniforms twice this season, but the team hasn’t announced when. NFL rules allow teams to wear alternate uniforms for both home and road games. Veterans are set to report to Bills training camp Wednesday, with the first practice scheduled for Wednesday morning at St. John Fisher.
