Amorette Miller is poised to become the first woman of color elected to the Greece Town Board after receiving unanimous support from the Greece Democratic Committee.
To become a candidate, she must gather the necessary signatures and will compete against a Republican challenger in the November election for the Ward 3 seat, currently held by Councilmember Michael Bloomer.
Miller, a Workers Rights advocate and mother of a middle school student, aims to promote noncommercial green spaces for community safety and recreation.
The Greece Democratic Committee also designated candidates for other town positions, with the Monroe County Democratic Committee set to review all nominations.
