Written by DJ Sight on February 4, 2026
Potholes are causing major vehicle damage in the region, with repairs often costing drivers thousands of dollars.
Auto shop owners report an early and active pothole season this year, attributed to an “old-fashioned winter.”
The city fills multiple potholes daily but cannot repair those covered by snow or water. Residents can report potholes via 3-1-1 or an interactive city map, though the city is only liable for damage if the pothole was previously reported and ignored.
State-maintained highways are only liable for damage from May 1 to Nov. 15, with potholes reported via 1-800-POTHOLE.
