Admission Fee Waived for Canandaigua’s Kershaw Swimming Beach

In a move to increase accessibility and reduce illegal lake swimming, the City of Canandaigua has waived entrance fees for Kershaw Beach this summer. Previously, non-residents paid between $2 and $5 for entry. City officials hope the decision encourages more families to enjoy the beach safely while deterring unsupervised lake access. Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through August, the swimming area at Kershaw Beach Park has long been a popular summer spot. By eliminating the fee, the city aims to foster a more inclusive recreational environment for locals and visitors alike.
