A.J. Brown felt like a ‘paid actor’ in Eagles’ Super Bowl loss to Kansas City

Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown is gearing up for a Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs, still haunted by the team’s narrow 38-35 loss two years ago. As the Eagles prepare for next weekend’s game in New Orleans, Brown opened up about the lingering regret from that loss, admitting he felt like a “paid actor” rather than a player in the championship atmosphere. A.J. Brown compared his past Super Bowl experience to playing a role in a movie rather than preparing as he would for a regular-season game. This time, he’s focusing on controlling his emotions amid the hype.
Despite recording six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in that game, Brown remains fixated on a missed opportunity to score, a play he refuses to discuss in case it returns to the Eagles’ playbook.
Since that Super Bowl, Brown has remained a dominant force, securing a three-year, $96 million contract extension and posting his third consecutive 1,000-yard season despite injuries.
As the rematch looms, Brown is blocking out distractions, turning down media requests, and maintaining laser focus. “None of this stuff matters,” he said. “All that matters is winning.”
With Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Saquon Barkley, the Eagles boast a more complete receiving corps than the Chiefs. Now, Brown aims to rewrite the ending and bring a second Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia.
