Rochester Regional Health Pauses Enrollment After Outcry Over Soaring Insurance Costs

Written by on November 12, 2025

Rochester Regional Health System has paused open enrollment after backlash over steep 2026 health insurance premium hikes.

The new salary-based plans would raise some employee costs dramatically — from $6 to $64 per pay period for entry-level staff and from $355 to over $1,200 for higher-band family plans.

The nurses’ union, RUNAP, says such increases could drive workers away and wants premium hikes capped at 6% per year.
