A nationwide listeria outbreak linked to prepared pasta meals has expanded, according to the FDA.
There are now 27 reported illnesses across 18 states, including six deaths and one fetal loss.
The contaminated ready-to-eat pasta salads and meals were produced by Nate’s Fine Foods and distributed to major grocery chains such as Trader Joe’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Kroger, and Walmart.
Health officials warn that listeria symptoms can appear within 2 weeks of eating contaminated food but may develop as soon as the same day or up to 10 weeks later.
