6% Surcharge On Purchases At New Highmark Stadium

There’s been a lot of discussion over the years about all sorts of costs associated with the new Highmark Stadium. If you plan on heading to events there, don’t be surprised to find a 6% surcharge tacked onto your receipts. That Erie County surcharge will apply to tickets, concessions, merchandise, parking and other items purchased at the stadium. It’s not just home Bills games the charge applies to; it also applies to other events held at the stadium complex. A spokesperson for the county executive said the revenue will be used for continuing capital improvements at the new home of the Bills. his 6% wasn’t included at the old stadium and is part of the new stadium lease. Those WIVB News 4 spoke with had differing views on the extra cost.
