2026 BET Awards: Teyana Taylor, Clipse win big; Lauryn Hill honored with Living Legend Icon Award

Teyana Taylor and Clipse were the big winners at the 2026 BET Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28. Both artists won three competitive awards. Taylor also received the Icon of the Year Award, adding to her wins for Best Actress, Video Director of the Year, and the Fashion Vanguard Award. Kendrick Lamar won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, and Cardi B won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Kehlani won Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for “Folded.” Leon Thomas won Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor and Sinners won Best Movie. The evening’s most celebrated moment was the tribute to Lauryn Hill, who received BET’s first Living Legend Icon Award. Nearly a dozen artists including Doechii, SZA, Tems, Doja Cat, Nas, Lizzo, Queen Latifah, Common, and Hill’s own children performed her iconic catalog. A separate tribute honored the late D’Angelo, who passed away in October at age 51. Druski hosted for the first time.
